DIGITAL INTELLIGENCE & WELL-BEING

Parent Learning Series with Chris Vollum
Wednesday, April 24 – 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
(Location: Sunningdale P. S.)

Sunningdale School Council would like to invite all parents and guardians to an in-person presentation on social media with Chris Vollum, a widely-recognized educator on numerous social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Discord and Snapchat. Please join us for an evening of meaningful learning on how to support our kids as they tackle online stress, anxiety and well-being related to the content they consume, create and share.

Parents/guardians will walk away with more confidence and skills, plus an easy-to-implement pathway on how to support our kids online, with topics including:

Chris Vollum has been teaching digital literacy and how to navigate social media for the last 18 years, and has presented to 700,000 students in Canada and the US. He will be giving an in-school presentation for students from grades 5 - 8 on the same day, providing parents with a great opportunity to further discuss this topic with their children.

Please note that child care will not be provided but parents/guardians are welcome to bring their child from grades 4 - 8 to the evening session.

To show our appreciation of the wonderful staff at Sunningdale Public School, School Council is holding a Staff Appreciation Luncheon on Thursday, May 23. In an effort to organize this event, we ask that families kindly donate towards the luncheon via School Cash Online (www.schoolcashonline.com). We respectfully suggest $5 per student (or more). Your generosity is greatly appreciated! All proceeds will be used towards the luncheon.

Parents/guardians are invited to attend the 2024 Parent Involvement Committee Conference on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at Elsie MacGill Secondary School (1410 Bronte St S, Milton). The theme of this year’s conference is Getting Connected. 

Registration is now open. Please complete the HDSB Parent Conference Registration form to register by Friday, April 12.
